I’m owner and founder of Rooted Accounting.

I have over 10 years of accounting experience, I graduated with bachelors in Accounting and decided to pursue my CPA designation.

When I’m not crunching numbers, you can find me practicing yoga, cooking Vietnamese food, travelling and spending time with my family and friends. I also have the best pet bunny that I have regular snuggles with!

My mission is to help powerful small businesses entrepreneurs to be confident with their finances. I’m passionate about helping you save on taxes, increasing your profits and growing your business! I understand the importance of maintaining excellent books. With my experience and expertise you can rest assured knowing your business is in good hands.

Why I started Rooted Accounting

As I was working my 9-5 job, I knew I wanted more, to make more of a difference. I knew my bookkeeping/accounting skills would be so helpful to small businesses.

After starting to do some bookkeeping work on the side and saw the impact, I was hooked.

I see the numbers but I also see the people behind the businesses, I know they built their business from nothing and its such an accomplishment to trust yourself so much to open the business and take the actions to make it successful!

I've been in Calgary basically my whole life, I'd to move to somewhere warm so I can have a greenhouse full of plants all year round as I love plants sooo much!  

I would like to travel more, and visit different places in Europe and Asia!

I relish outdoor adventures and seek out new challenges.

I'm committed to giving back to the community, and I volunteer my time to support local causes. I also cherish spending quality time with my loved ones, who are my top priority!

Hi, I’m Amanda!
I was born in Ottawa, I have lived in Calgary now for many years, I have two children and two cats. I love swimming, movies, reading and I’m passionate about animal welfare.

I joined Rooted Accounting in 2023. I’ve been a bookkeeper since 2017. I love everything about bookkeeping, from organizing clients’ receipts to the satisfaction of reconciliation and everything in between.

Behind the name: Rooted Accounting

In 2020 I grew an obsession over house plants and now have over 50 potted house plants. So over the years I grew a strong love for them and you could say I have a green thumb! I have almost every plant you can think of! If you need any plant tips , let me know!

When I was thinking about the name, I thought bookkeeping was very similar to plants, if you have a solid foundation, with proper systems and processes , its easy to keep your bookkeeping up to date, and if its up to date, you what you need to do to keep your business growing! Keep nourishing your business and it will grow just like plants. And that’s where Rooted Accounting came from.

I was born in Thailand and moved here when I was 2!

I love woodworking, I have made a desk, bench, and lego shelf!

I still read romance novels and cry my eyes out! 

I speak Vietnamese and a little bit of Cantonese! 

I learned how to ski a year ago but scared to go fast so I think I be a beginner forever! 

I worked at the bank for 8 years as Financial Rep!
